Admission requirements for Australia

For the Student visa, the minimum is IELTS 6.0 overall (or equivalent PTE/TOEFL), and lower scores are accepted only with ELICOS packages. The Duolingo English Test is not accepted for the visa.

Undergraduate (bachelor's)

  • Class 12 with 60–85% depending on university and course
  • English: IELTS 6.0–6.5 or PTE equivalent
  • Prerequisite subjects for engineering, science and health courses
  • Foundation program if direct entry is not possible

Postgraduate (master's / MBA)

  • Recognised bachelor's degree (3-year degrees accepted for many coursework master's)
  • English: IELTS 6.5 (no band below 6.0) is common; higher for nursing and teaching
  • Statement of purpose and CV
  • Relevant background or work experience for some programs

You apply online through ImmiAccount after receiving your Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE). You must meet the Genuine Student (GS) requirement, show financial capacity, hold OSHC health insurance and meet English, health and character requirements.
